Admissions

If you would like your child to attend our school you need to apply via Suffolk County Council's Admissions Team. The link below will take you to their web page. Their page will also give you details of catchment areas, FAQs and sources of advice. As a local authority funded school we are governed by the Suffolk County Council Admissions Procedures. We are a one year entry school in September with our classes capacity at 30 per year group. If a class is at capacity parents may contact admissions to instigate an appeal which is held by an independant body.

The Admissions Team for Suffolk County Council can be contacted on:
Admissions Team, Endeavour House, 8 Russell Road, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP1 2BX
Phone: 0345 600 0981 (local rate)

When speaking with Admissions please state that you are enquiring about "Ickworth Park Primary School in Horringer". There is a similar sounding school in the area and this has often caused confusion.

We welcome visits from families thinking of joining us in any of our year groups, Reception up to Year 6, it is always best to contact us first for availability, some of our year groups are at capacity. Please contact us on 01284 735337 to arrange a convenient time. We can also help with initial enquiries about admission procedures.

If you have received confirmation from admissions that your child has received a space, please contact the school office as soon as possible to arrange a start date and to pick up a Welcome pack which includes a  number of forms that will need completing.

Early Years Foundation Stage Admissions at Ickworth Park Primary

We recognise that choosing a school for your child can be a bewildering process. Choosing the right school can be based upon several factors:

  • Proximity to where you live
  • Friends and family recommendations
  • Pre-school attendance
  • Older siblings attending the same school
  • Research you may have done online
  • Ease of getting your child to school if you work

By looking at a school you can begin to get a ‘feel’ for the environment and you will know if your child will feel comfortable within our setting. There is a lot of information on the other pages of this website, please do take a look.

If your child will be 4 years old on September 1st 2024 then you are able to apply for a place in our Early Years class.

You will need to apply through Suffolk County Councils admissions process.

Information and forms can be found on their website at admissions@suffolk.gov.uk.

The closing date for applications is usually mid January and the precise date can be found on the Suffolk County Councils admissions website, see link above.

We have created a video of our school so that you can have a virtual tour, please click on the link below.
