Grade 2 point 3-4 (appointed grade dependent upon experience)

Actual salary £15,424 -£15,673 (FTE £22,737- £23,114 P.A) subject to National Pay award due April 2024

Ickworth Park Primary School is set in the beautiful village of Horringer, on the edge of Bury St Edmunds. We are rated as a ‘Good’ school by Ofsted and we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and engaging Teaching Assistant to support children across the school.

You will have: 

  • An understanding of how children learn and a commitment to working in partnership with class teachers to raise attainment
  • A sound knowledge of the skills required to actively support children in developing their independence, self-esteem and positive learning behaviours
  • Flexibility to adapt duties and responsibilities as per the needs of the children in your care
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and also use your own initiative
  • Effective behaviour management strategies
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills including a good level of English and maths skills
  • An understanding of the barriers children with special educational needs can face and an ability to support them to achieve
  • The flexibility to work across different age phases if required

Qualifications and experience are not essential but would be an advantage.

Our staff are dedicated, supportive and committed to providing creative opportunities for learning. You must be able to demonstrate a full commitment to the school and its aim to raise standards.

Applicants must have GCSEs (or the equivalent) in Maths and English.

The contracted hours are 8.45am -3.20pm with additional hours available according to the needs of the school.

The post is for 29hours 25mins per week over 5 days and for 39 weeks per year

The Headteacher and Governing Body of Ickworth Park Primary School are looking to recruit a committed teacher for Key Stage Two. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and inspiring professional to be part of the Ickworth Park Team.
