Early Years Foundation Stage Admissions at Ickworth Park Primary

We recognise that choosing a school for your child can be a bewildering process. Choosing the right school can be based upon several factors:

  • Proximity to where you live
  • Friends and family recommendations
  • Pre-school attendance
  • Older siblings attending the same school
  • Research you may have done online
  • Ease of getting your child to school if you work

Places are limited to 30 at Ickworth and we are often oversubscribed. By looking at a school you can begin to get a ‘feel’ for the environment and will know your child will feel comfortable in our setting. Children are in primary school for 7 years, so getting it right is important both for your child’s happiness and your peace of mind.

We are always happy to show people around. However, because so many people are interested in their child coming to Ickworth and to minimise disruption to our pupils we hold an annual open morning, this year this will be at 9.30 a.m. on Thursday November 14th. You will be able to meet the Head teacher and EYFS staff, see the classroom, have a tour of the school and ask any questions you may have. This will take approximately one hour.

Please telephone the school office if you would like to attend this event. Please note this is an event for parents, if children are successful applicants we have a good induction process in the summer term before they start school.

If your child will be 4 years old on September 1st 2020 then you are able to apply for a place in our Early Years class.

You will need to apply through Suffolk County Councils admissions process- information and forms can be found on their website admissions@suffolk.gov.uk. The closing date for applications is 15th January 2020.

We look forward to meeting you on 14th November.
