Uniform
Ickworth Park Primary School – Uniform
Pupils are expected to wear school uniform (including school PE kit) to promote a sense of community.
The school colours are red, white tops and grey trousers, skirts or shorts.
Logo items (please see below) are especially useful for educational visits.
On PE days/sports club days children will need to come into school in their PE kit.
All uniform should be clearly named. We do use a company called Stifkins Labels (please see link)

Hair- all children
All long hair should be tied back at all times. No excessively large headbands or Jo-jo bows (e.g. cat ears and enormous bows) any ribbons, bows and headbands should be black, grey, white or red.
Jewellery
Jewellery, except for watches, should not be worn to school. Children who have pierced ears may wear small stud earrings, the child needs to be able to remove these themselves for PE. (In line with guidance from the AfPE)
Shoes/Boots
Shoes should be sensible – no open toe sandals or crocs please. Children can wear boots in school, these need to be black and flat, and no heels please. If a child wears boots to school please send in a spare of shoes to change into when they get here. If a child wishes to go on the field at lunchtimes, during Autumn and Spring term, the children need to bring in a spare pair of shoes in a carrier bag, this saves on mud being dragged into class rooms.
In snowy weather it is advisable to send in a pair of wellies – and spare socks are useful too.
Coats
A suitable warm winter coat is necessary as the playground is very exposed and children are outside for over 30 minutes. Throughout the year children will need a waterproof coat as they may be outside during wet weather.
Summer
Sun hats should be worn, there is very little shade in the middle of the day. Sunscreen needs to be provided in the original bottle with your child’s name on it. Children are expected to apply their own sunscreen from Year 1.
Other equipment
School book bags are available to purchase from the school office (price £5), although all Reception children will be issued with a complimentary book bag when they start school. Your child may bring a small rucksack type of bag with their belongings in. Please note that storage space is at a premium.
We do provide all children with pencils, pens and rulers etc.
Water bottles can be used in school, these must be named and must be taken home to be washed and refilled every day with water. Children can refill during the day if needed.
Logo items
It is helpful if your child can have at least one piece of clothing with the school logo on as this is useful for any school trips, events or school photos. If you prefer we do have some second hand uniform available to purchase. If you are interested please contact the PTA by email at pta@ickworthpark.suffolk.sch.uk
